# CantonPay — accept stablecoin payments

CantonPay turns a payout address into a payment link. A merchant creates the link, a customer pays it from their own wallet, and CantonPay confirms the payment by reading the ledger itself.

- No account is needed to be paid. A payout address, an asset and an amount make a payable link.
- CantonPay never holds funds, and never holds a private key or a seed phrase. Money goes from the customer to the merchant directly.
- A payment is confirmed only after the backend matches a transaction read from the chain. Nothing a browser reports decides that.
- An account adds webhooks, a saved payout address, a store name and a list of your links.
